I want to begin this article on fat loss by saying that supplements, no matter how good or how high quality they may be, do not make up for an unhealthy diet and a sedentary lifestyle. I wanted to say this because there are individuals that buy supplements to lose weight, as in that is all they do, thinking the supplement will somehow "cure" their obesity or get rid of the excess fat, ignoring the fact that they eat fast food and spend most of their time on the couch or chair.
There is nothing actually, nothing that can make up for your unhealthy lifestyle. There is nothing that can get rid of your excess fat as long as you keep being sedentary and having unhealthy eating habits.
Also, when I say unhealthy eating habits I am referring to foods with an excessive quantity of carbohydrates, fat or calories.
If you are serious about losing the weight and getting fit and healthy, then make changes to your lifestyle, that should be your number one, main priority and nothing else.
Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk a bit about CLA or conjugated linoleic acid. What is it? Well, basically we're talking about a combination of essential fatty acids. They are known as polyunsaturated fatty acids or PUFAs.
Unless you consume them through food, you don't have them in your body because the body does not produce them naturally, it's why they are called essential. Milk or beef have CLA but there is very little of it in foods. Just by consuming foods with CLA in them will not be enough to offer a noticeable difference in your metabolism.
CLA Safflower Oil can burn fat, by helping your metabolism be better at what it does, which is burn fat to fuel your body. However it only works in a certain dose, and that dose is high because it has poor bio availability and potency. According to clinical trials/studies, 3 grams is the standard dose, as much as 6 grams may be used to get benefits.
CLA is safe for most individuals that are healthy and should not cause any serious harmful side-effects.
